Our boys, Far-Less, are self-releasing their final Tooth & Nail album, A Toast to Bad Taste, on double-vinyl. They're taking pre-orders now and will be pressed one time only in early 2011. The first 100 will autographed by the band.
Expansion Pack from Metroid Metal is the #4 top album of the week over on Bandcamp. We're up there with Sufjan Stevens and Nico Muhly — good company!
Silent Uproar is proud to announce the release of Expansion Pack from Metroid Metal on September 7th. It's a 6-song compliment to last year's Varia Suite. The live MM band will premiere EP at PAX Prime 2010 in Seattle, WA on September 3rd. Read the official word about the release on metroidmetal.com.
Our own Stemage recently contributed a new track, "The Challenger," to Songs for the Cure 2010, the third compilation from Indie Music Cancer Drive. $10 gets you a digital copy and $25 gets you a physical release. The goal is to raise $10,000 by April 23rd for fight against cancer.
In related news, Stemage is hard at work on an instrumental concept album, to be released later this year. "The Challenger" from said compilation, will not be included on the forthcoming full-length.
It's release day for Classics. This album is a long time coming and, at one point, probably never would've seen the light of day. Nevertheless, three years and a break-up later, The Capulets are still filling a void in music today. Stream and download Classics on Bandcamp!
On November 17th, we'll finally issue a collection of songs from Chapel Hill's The Capulets. The quartet parted ways shortly after partnering with Silent Uproar Records and it's always just bummed us out that we never were able to release this music. We're calling the album Classics and it will be available in digital format and a very limited edition of physical copies. Notably, The Capulets' Stu, Josh and Tom have moved on to some much-deserved success with The Love Language. Stay tuned for more details.
On the Metroid Metal front, the band is playing a live show in Asheville, NC on November 20th at Stella Blue. In early 2010, the band will play MAGFest 8 in Alexandria, VA. Finally, be sure to check out the new Metroid Metal website.
Surprise! Varia Suite from Metroid Metal is now available on Bandcamp for digital download. We're releasing it early in celebration of Metroid Metal's performance at PAX 2009 tonight. Also, the Silent Uproar Records store is open for business, with more MM t-shirts and a new package deal.
For those folks who pre-ordered the album and have not yet received it, we'll be sending out download codes
tonight (Sep 5). We're running Pacific time, so it might be early Saturday, but keep an eye out for our email.
Update: Due to some technical difficulty, downloads codes were just sent to folks who placed pre-orders after approximately Sep 2 at 1pm ET. If that applies to you, please look out for a "Metroid Metal Download Code" email. If you placed your order on the Silent Uproar Records store, your orders will ship soon.
